non-formal education

short courses in dili

Almost 70 per cent of the population of Timor-Leste are under twenty-five, however many are neither studying or working. The UN has recommended that Timor-Leste, on top of providing quality education, also increase and improve education that provides skills useful for current and future labour market and smoothes transition from school to employment[1].

FUNDEF provides classes useful for daily work in Dili, which young people may not have learned in school or university, such as using Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher; finance and administration; English; IT and Lidership.

The FUNDEF courses are held in our training center in Bairro-Pite. Students study their selected subject for 2 hours a day,3-5 days a week, for two months; and are provided with a completion certificate. The courses are affordable for students in and around the Bairro-Pite area; at $10 for registration, and a further $15 if they complete.
